On September 9, the prize team provided an overview of the Single Shield Prize. A representative from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) opened the session, which was followed by an introduction to the prize, submission process, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Connecting with the influenza research community at Options XIII
From August 30 to September 2, the prize team attended the Options for the Control of Influenza XIII Conference in Washington, D.C. The conference gathered leading experts advancing influenza prevention, control, and treatment.
At the conference, the team presented the Single Shield Prize’s objective and approach and learned about the vaccine platforms and research already underway. See the poster.
Later this month: Proposers’ Day
The next opportunity to connect with the Single Shield Prize community is the Concept Stage Proposers’ Day on September 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. ET in New York City.
The event will cover key details, the vision behind the prize, and the types of solutions the team is looking for. Attendees will also meet other prospective entrants and potential partners working across vaccine development.
